lives, and we are committed to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by diverse
communities in American Samoa. We strive to create programs and initiatives that are
culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible to all individuals, regardless of religion,
race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, ability, or other
identities.
We are dedicated to actively engaging with and listening to the voices of survivors, advocates,
community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that our work is inclusive, responsive,
and reflective of the diverse perspectives and lived experiences within American Samoa.
Through ongoing education, training, and dialogue, we seek to cultivate a supportive and
inclusive organizational culture where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to
contribute to positive change.
We understand that achieving our mission requires a commitment to dismantling systems of
oppression and addressing the root causes of violence, inequality, and injustice. We are
dedicated to advancing equity and social justice through our advocacy efforts, policy initiatives,

THE STORY OF THE ALLIANCE
The American Samoa Alliance against Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (ASADSV), also known as "the Alliance" was formed soon after one of the worst recorded disasters struck American Samoa in September 2009.
The Alliance grew out of desire by founding members to strengthen the work in the Territory in: developing services, forging ongoing community awareness, education and providing support through training and technical assistance for existing and potential services that speak to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of violence within the territory.
