August is Women Equality Month. This month is a great opportunity to raise awareness and promote gender equality. How can we as a community raise awareness? Here are some tips.
1. Share inspirational stories of influential women who made significant contributions to society, history, arts or any other field. Highlight their achievements and the impact they've made.
2. Share Women Empowerment quotes.
3. Amplify Female voices: Promote the work of women creators, activists, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

Recap Alert! Our incredible summer youth interns recently concluded their 10-week internship program by hosting a virtual youth summit on Victim Blaming. We're excited to share the key highlights with you! This summit aimed to raise awareness about victim blaming and empower young voices to combat this harmful phenomenon. Our interns worked tirelessly, dedicating their time and effort to curate thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and inspiring talks from members of the community. Patrick Ti'a Reid delivered insight on "What is Victim Blaming," shedding light on the damaging effects and misconceptions surrounding this issue. His insights were eye-opening, urging us to challenge societal attitudes and support survivors. |
The Alliance was able to spend the summer with some amazing members of the community who took part in the SELF-CARE THRU ARTS SUMMER PROGRAM hosted by The American Samoa Alliance Against Domestic & Sexual Violence and local artists Puataunofo Tofaeono and Tasiaeafe Hiner. A big 'FAAFETAI' & 'FAAMALO' goes out to TAOA & Director Lilio Satele, staff and the participants there as well as Director Dr. Salote Fanene, her staff at DYWA and the participants there for the continuous support and collaboration in making this event a huge success. |
