Department: Communications
I hail from the beautiful villages of Ili 'Ili and Pago Pago, and I am the daughter of Agnes and Junior Polu. I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the American Samoa Community College, where I double majored in Liberal Arts and Civil Engineering Technology. I will attend Boise State University this coming fall, majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Studies. The Alliance against Domestic and Sexual Violence was my very first official office job, I started as an intern when I was a sophomore in high school. During my time here, I learned a great deal about time management and building leadership skills. It was a beautiful experience, and I knew it was my calling to return and work one last time at the organization that nurtured my growth. I want to be a strong advocate for those who face abuse and violence every day. It is time to break the stigma and address these serious problems our families face quietly behind closed doors. |

|
Department : Rural
My name is Fredeena, and I am 17 years old from the village of Vaitogi. I recently graduated from Tafuna High School, where I was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the Top 10 of my class. This summer, I had the honor of representing American Samoa at the National HOSA Competition. I will be attending ASCC this upcoming fall majoring in liberal arts.
I chose to join Alliance through the Rural Program because I wanted to learn more about the work they do behind the scenes. I’ve always admired how they advocate for women and families who are going through difficult situations, and I wanted to see how I could learn from that experience. I also wanted to explore a new profession and hope to gain more knowledge afterwards. |

I also look forward to learning more about advocacy, prevention efforts, and the important role organizations like the Alliance play in supporting the community.
