Community Educator
August 4, 2021, We are hiring a Community Educator who will be the primary staff.  This position will Identify and
address needs of historically underserved survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children, and work to enhance services to these survivors across American Samoa.  The individual in this position is responsible for providing community members, and organizations with domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking prevention education. Must be available to work some night, evening, and weekend hours. Responsibilities include facilitating inclusive educational classes and workshops to diverse community members of varying size.  Reports directly to the Training Coordinator. 
This position will work 50% COVID-19, 25% Office of Violence against Women (OVW) and 25% Family Violence Prevention Services Act (FVPSA).

PROGRAM SPECIALIST (OVW RURAL GRANT) We start many discussions, and activities focused on strengthening services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in American Samoa.  We encourage our community to unpack cultural and personal beliefs to address domestic & sexual violence in our community to promote collaboration and build resiliency.  This project will focus LGBT, Fa’afafine survivors, and survivors in Rural communities.  This position does not provide direct services to survivors, but rather works to create systematic and societal change to improve the response to survivors across the state. Media Assistant:  (OVW/FVPSA Grant) This position works closely with Media Coordinator to creates engaging content to increase Alliance’s media presence. They will aid in keeping media channels current, and focused on the work of the Alliance, while searching for new media pathways to connect with the local community.​ Press here for more information.
